August 12, 7-11pmHaunt is pleased to present Please Question This Answer Carefully, a presentation by Vancouver-based artist Erik Hood. The installation will feature three of the artist’s collections; vintage Rolling Stone Magazines, specifically those around the reporting of Democratic and Republican conventions covered by Hunter S. Thompson, the first 9 issues of Fluxus Magazine, ccV Tre, re-printed in 1975, and the now deaccessioned Telus 16mm film archive. Hood will be continuously screening selections from the film archive from 7-11PM. Looking to continue the tide of living art at Haunt, Hood’s approach to the exhibition revisits recent methods of dealing with the conflict of free artistic labour and capital within the delicate overtones of experiential methods of art making.
Erik Hood (b. 1978) is a Canadian artist based in Vancouver. He holds a BFA from Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design and has been mounting exhibitions and events at Hardscrabble Gallery since 2012.
